How to cancel or reschedule a lesson

Currently, rescheduling lessons is not available for tutors. However, students can reschedule a lesson if they do so at least 6 hours before the lesson’s start time. You will receive an email notification about the change in booking.

Cancelling lessons

For tutors:

  1. Tutors can cancel a lesson before its start time if necessary. It’s best to notify the student as early as possible if a cancellation is needed.
  • If a student requests a cancellation within 6 hours of the lesson start time, tutors may choose to cancel at their discretion. According to platform rules, tutors are entitled to receive payment if the student does not show up or fails to cancel or reschedule the lesson within the allowed time frame.

For students:

  • Students can cancel a lesson up to 6 hours before its start time. If you need to cancel after this period, contact your tutor directly. The tutor will decide whether to accept the late cancellation request.

Instructions for cancelling a lesson

Log into your account:

  • Go to the lesson card on the “My Lessons” page in your account where you want to request a cancellation or rescheduling.

Request cancellation or rescheduling:

  • For cancellations, select the option to cancel the lesson. The lesson will be removed from your schedule.
  • For rescheduling, select the option to change the date/time. This request will only be processed if the other party agrees to the new time. Otherwise, the lesson will continue as originally scheduled.

Cancellation within 24 hours:

  • Lessons scheduled to start within 24 hours cannot be rescheduled or canceled through the platform. Notify your tutor directly to discuss possible arrangements.

After the lesson has started:

  • If a tutor does not attend the lesson, you must click “Support” to report the issue to support. You can describe what happened and report the problem. Support will contact both the student and tutor to resolve the issue.

  • Depending on the resolution, the lesson may be canceled and the package returned to the student, or it may be confirmed and payment processed to the tutor if the lesson was conducted according to platform rules.

Important notes:

  • Frequent cancellations can negatively impact your reputation on the platform. Both students and tutors are encouraged to keep cancellations to a minimum.
  • After a lesson, if there are issues or disputes, both students and tutors can use the “Lesson Incomplete” button within 24 hours to request a refund.
